Etymology

Named for British-Brazilian entrepeneur Charles Frewen, who owns land in the region where the species was discovered, “in recognition of the contribution made by Charles Frewen to the understanding of floristic botany in this region and his commitment to its conservation” (Zappi & Taylor).
