Latin textōris, genitive (possessive) form of textor ‘weaver’. An illegitimate renaming of Opuntia weberi (= Tephrocactus weberi), which is named after Albert Weber (German Weber ‘weaver’). Compare Michaëlopuntia michaëlis (= Miqueliopuntia miquelii) and Salmonopuntia salmonana (= Salmiopuntia salmiana = Salmonopuntia salmiana), two similar latinizations published on the same page.
