Opuntiopsis

Opuntiopsis C.Knebel, ()
🌵 Author(s)
Etymology

Opuntia + Greek –opsis ‘looking like’. Presumably for the Opuntia-like phylloclades. At the time of publication (Möllers Deutsche Gärtner-Zeitung 44: 34. 1929) this was an illegitimate younger synonym of Epiphyllanthus, which is now included in Schlumbergera. It is not a synonym of Rhipsalis, as is claimed in GBIF.

Rhabdonia sect. Opuntiopsis J.Agardh is a group of red algae with a somewhat Opuntia-like habit.
