Opuntia 'Rutilans'
Jankalski, nom. instat. (1993)
Etymology
π΅ Author(s) | Stephen Jankalski |
Latin rutilans ‘reddening’. “This is a misnomer because the flower is actually purplish pink” (Richard Crook and Roy Mottram, Opuntia Index Part 11: W-Z, cultivars, Bradleya, 23/2005: 7β78).
This is not a valid cultivar name because Latin names are (with some exceptions that donβt apply here) unacceptable under the International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants.
