Opuntia ‘Rutilans’

Opuntia 'Rutilans' Jankalski, ()

Etymology

Latin rutilans ‘reddening’. “This is a misnomer because the flower is actually purplish pink” (Richard Crook and Roy Mottram, Opuntia Index Part 11: W-Z, cultivars, Bradleya, 23/2005: 7–78).

This is not a valid cultivar name because Latin names are (with some exceptions that don’t apply here) unacceptable under the International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants.
