Etymology

Latin Clarkiōrum ‘of the Clarks’. Named for Mary and Dallas Clark, presumably Mary Hollis Clark (1921-2010) and her husband Dallas Clark, for their long term support of natural history research in the southern California and Baja California regions. Common name: Clarks’ Prickly-pear” (Rebman).
