A superfluous “correction” of Miqueliopuntia, which is indirectly named for German-Dutch botanist Frederik Anton Wilhelm Miquel (1810-1871), based on the apparent assumption that Miquel’s surname derives from Michael. Even if that is true, Heath’s alteration of Miqueliopuntia miquelii to Michaëlopuntia michaëlis has no basis in the International Code of Nomenclature.
