Etymology

Bödeker: “I have named the plant after Mrs Konrektor Hildegard Winter in Fechenheim near Frankfurt am Main, at whose instigation her brother, Mr Friedr[ich] Ritter in Saltillo, has sent me so much valuable plant material (partly novelties), in a very commendable manner also including the scientifically most necessary information.”
