Etymology

Named for American botanist Myron Kimnach. “We name this new genus after our dear colleague Myron Kimnach. He is an outstanding expert on the epiphytic cacti, and in particular on the Hylocereeae and his publications were a significant contribution to our knowledge on this group of plants. It is therefore our great pleasure to honour his works by dedicating this genus to him.”
