Etymology

Greek kalos ‘beautiful’ + Greek chlōros ‘greenish-yellow, pale green’. For the plant body, described by Bödeker as “not very large, but pretty, shiny light-leaf green” (“nicht sehr groß[], aber hübsch[], glänzend hellaubgrün[]”).
