Etymology

A new name for Bragaia estevesii (the type species of Bragaia) to avoid homonymy with Facheiroa estevesii (= Facheiroa cephaliomelana subsp. estevesii). Compare Coleocephalocereus neoëstevesii (another nomen novum published on the same page as Facheiroa bragaia) and Echinopsis chamaecereus (a new name for Chamaecereus silvestrii).
