Etymology

Error for Eulychnocactus. Backeberg (Cactaceae 6: 3903. 1962): “[The name Eulychnocactus] was mentioned as Elychnocactus Lip. in “Le più belle Cactee i Cereus” in “La Costa Azzurra Agricola Floreale,” April/May, 9. 1933, and in an alphabetical list of cactus genera, with the sole species Elychnocactus bolivianus Lip.”
