🌵 Author(s)
Etymology

Named for Austrian botanist Walter Rausch (1928-), who collected the species near Pojo, Cochabamba, Bolivia, and described it as Lobivia pojoënsis in 1968. This new name was necessary to avoid homonymy with Echinopsis pojoënsis Cárdenas (1959) (= Echinopsis bridgesii subsp. vallegrandensis). Not to be confused with Lobivia rauschii (= Echinopsis yuquina).
