Not explained by Britton & Rose. Presumably named for Guy Hamilton Burrage (1867-1954), “the officer in charge of the U.S. Steamer ‘Albatross’, with whom Dr. Rose sailed on a scientific expedition down the W coast of Baja California in 1911” (Crook & Mottram in Bradleya 13: 117. 1995).
