Etymology

Named for Austrian botanist Franz Buxbaum (1900-1979). Buining: “This interesting plant was found on the [type] locality by Leopoldo Horst and Buining on July 9, 1972. We owe so much in our work to our friend Prof. Dr. Franz Buxbaum because of his excellent expert advice that we are happy to name this plant after him.”
