Latin hybrĭdus flōre lūtĕō ‘hybrid with yellow flower’. A purported Cactus opuntia (Opuntia ficus-indica) × Cactus speciosissimus (Disocactus speciosus) hybrid exhibited by the Société de Flore of Namur, Belgium, in 1837. The correct nothogenus for this hybrid is ×Disuntia.
