Etymology

Corrected form of Astrophytum. Although Astrophytum would be correct as a compound of Greek astron (stem astr-) ‘star’ and Greek phyton, its author, Charles Lemaire, explicitly stated that the first part was Greek astēr (stem aster-) ‘star, starfish’.
